Hello, hello! It has been a long time since I posted here and this will likely be my last post , because as you see in the title, I'm taking myself out of the running.

Hey y'all! Boy do I have a yummy post for y'all today! As you all know I have been on a fitness journey for almost 2 YEARS now! And what a journey it has been. It's not been easy by any means, but so worth it. I get questions all of the time asking how I fight off the sweet cravings or what do I do when I want dessert so bad. Sometimes, I give in to those cravings, I do, I am only human. But the majority of the time, I grab a Chobani yogurt out of the fridge and it satisfies the need for sweets. The best part is, I eat Chobani Simply 100 Crunch. It is sweetened with Stevia and has just the right amount of crunch that I love in a dessert! I limit myself to anything like this to a couple times a week because I eventually want to stop "desserts" all together but for now, Chobani is my go-to! Chobani has introduced some great graphics featuring awesome tips on how to burn 100 calories! I love them and wanted to share those tips with all of you! How great is that? The best part is the options Chobani has shared are super fun and they can include your kids, both human and furry! Your kids can get exercise too and not know it. Who would have thought that flying a kite could count as exercise? Not this girl!
Click HERE to visit the Chobani website and check out all of the delicious flavors you have to choose from. Did you know that Chobani also has yogurt for your littles?!?! They do! They have squeezable pouches of Greek Yogurt for your tots AND yogurt tubes for bigger kids! How great is this? My littles seriously love yogurt and these are super easy to grab when you're headed out the door to exercise, shop or to stick in their lunch box for a healthy snack alternative. Seriously, Chobani has a great variety to fit all of your families needs!! Click here to see your TOT choices and here to see your KID choices and here for ALL of Chobani products! Sidenote: Chobani has not promised me anything for this post. All opinions are my own. One year ago this month I made a decision and a plan and set out on the hardest yet most rewarding journey of my life. My fitness journey. This past year I have lost a little more than 50 pounds and around 30 inches but I have gained my life back, self love and confidence and those are so much more important. Thank you all for the support this year. I can't wait to see how far I've come by this time next year. I DID IT!! I MADE IT TO 50 POUNDS LOST!! Y'ALL. I'M GOING TO BE REAL. I DIDN'T THINK I WAS GOING TO MAKE IT. WHEN I STARTED THIS JOURNEY IN SEPTEMBER OF 2014, I DID NOT THINK I WAS GOING TO STICK WITH IT. I HAVE STARTED THIS JOURNEY SO MANY TIMES IN THE PAST AND GAVE UP ON MYSELF, I WAS SURE I WAS GOING TO DO IT AGAIN. BUT I DIDN'T GIVE UP! NOT THIS TIME! I HAVE STUCK WITH IT. IT HAS BEEN THE HARDEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE, OUTSIDE MY BABIES OF COURSE. ;) I'VE GOT ONE MORE GOAL TO CRUSH AND THEN WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS FROM THERE. MY ULTIMATE GOAL IS 150 POUNDS. THAT IS 12 POUNDS AWAY. IT MAY TAKE ME A WHILE TO GET THAT LAST 11 POUNDS, BUT I BELIEVE IN ME AND KNOW I CAN GET THERE. THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING ON MY JOURNEY WITH ME. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT IS NEXT IN MY JOURNEY!
I am not sure how I forgot to update y'all on my Woodstock 5k and my Run Baby Run 5k! Well, Woodstock was a BLAST! There were over 1,500 runners and boy was it an experience! I of course pushed my babies in the double jogger. My finishing time was 40:07! I was stoked! I went into this race with a goal of 40 minutes! How close was I?!?! I am beyond proud of myself. This was a fantastic race. From start to finish this race was well organized, smooth and all around FUN! Now, the following week we ran Run Baby Run 5k. This was not such a great experience. I knew going into this race it may not be well organized because it was only the 2nd race they have put on and boy was I right!!! Not only was it deathly hot the course that we runners ran was TOUGH to say the least. My finish time was 40:57 which considering the hills we had, I'll take it. But when we were finished, I saw people finshed who I knew started behind me, and never passed me. So, I'm like, "Whaaaa"? We were informed by a volunteer at the finish line that some of the walkers took a diiferent route! She said, "It's a shame some of the walkers are getting better times than those of you who ran the whole thing because they took another route"! A route that was NOT 3.1 miles. I came in third in the stroller category on the correct route, but my third place medal was given to a walker who took the shorter course. Can you say pissed off? They knew these people didn't do the right course yet they were still rewarded? How does that work? Anyway, I will probably not do this run again next year if that is how it will be done. We don't have anymore runs scheduled this year, YET! But we are totally looking forward to doing more. Influenster Vox Box Review time! Whoohoo!!!
So in my latest #voxbox I received the following: *Infusium 23 Smoothing Cream *Dickensons Cleansing Clothes *Blue Diamond Sriracha flavored Almonds *BarkThins *Sinful Colors nail polish *Vaseline Aloe Mosturizing Spray Let us begin with the Infusium 23 Smoothing cream. This stuff is seriously a life saver when it comes to Alabama humidity, y'all. My hair frizzes so incredibly bad but with this cream it is totally manageable! I give this product 2 thumbs way way up! Now, the Dickensons cleansing cloths are a whole different story. They clean the skin well, but y'all, I couldn't get past the smell. They are made with witch hazel and that smell legit makes me gag. I used the cloths once just so I could give a cleaning review. If you are okay with the smell of witch hazel then these are definitely for you! Cleans well, smells awful. Blue Diamond Sriracha flavored almonds are as good as they sound. I couldn't eat the entire bag in one sitting because the repetative flavor was a bit much. But a handful here and there, DELICIOUS!! I received a coupon for Bark Thins in which I chose the Dark Chocolate. So. So. Good. Seriously, these things are amazing. Sinful Colors Nail Polish in the color Southern Belle. Super pretty color. Sinful Colors has never disappointed me with the shade they come up with. Great polish. It lasted almost three days which is incredibly good for me because I am super hard on my nails. Fabulous product. Finally, the Vaseline Spray on Aloe Moisturizer. I am so in love with this product, for real. This stuff is amazing to say the least. It does not leave you greasy after you apply it nor does it leave a sticky feel. It absorbs super quick into the skin and definitely does a great job moisturizing. I was hesitant to purchase this product when I saw it in stores because I don't like spray on products but when I tried this, I was sold. This is an absolute staple in my house now. Over all this #voxbox was by far my favorite to date. Absolute great products and new must haves for me. I received this product free from Influenster for review. All opinions are my own. Hey fitfam!! As I was scrolling through Instagram the other night I noticed a "like" from GLP_Fitness intrigued I clicked the profile and fell in love with what I saw. Women and men of every shape, size, ethnicity and beyond were representing a brand promoting confidence. I grew up without any confidence at all. Until this very year. In 2015 I have learned to love the skin I am in. I have more confidence than I ever have and it has nothing at all to do with my looks or the weight I have lost. It has everything to do with how mentally accomplished and how proud I am of me for every single thing I have over come in my life. Confidence absolutely comes from within.
Click here to read all about GLP. While you're there pick yourself up some confidence swag. Love this company and everything they are promoting. And the material this tank is made of is super soft and comfortable! Need some motivation? Here, take some from Rocky Balboa. If this speech doesn't hit you in the feels and motivate you in the slightest, you're just not human! Ha! You're Welcome. Here. Have another.......... I made a series of goals at the beginning of the year and one of those goals was to run a 5k. Not walk/run but run the 5k in its entirety. So, the 35th annual Anniston Runners Club Woodstock 5k is coming up on August 1 and I am going to enter it and I am starting my training tonight. I was going to enter only if I could finish a 5k, walk or run, in under 40 minutes. But then my husband reminded me that the time does not matter. Focus on running all 3.10 miles regardless of my pace. So that is what I am going to work on for the next month. I will run the whole thing because I want it so badly and I am determined to do it to make myself and my family proud, my fitfam included.
Good morning lovelies! I got my acceptance letter from Strong Figure yesterday to be an ambassador and I couldn't be happier! I am apart of the best #fitfam in the world. And to add Strongfigure to that is amazing. If you are not a part of the strong figure family click here!!
Also, I know I have been slacking on my blog. Sorry. Just, not much interesting has really happened lately but I do want to share my new transformation picture! I was going through old memory cards and came across my FIRST "before" picture that I took at 215 pounds when I started a fitness journey in May of 2014. That journey didn't last long. Some guy made fun of me while I was running. I let it get to my head. Killed my spirit, I quit. BUT, I returned to my journey at 211 pounds in Spetember of 2014 with an amazing outlook and mindset. I have been going strong since and have no intentions of giving up. Not this time. I weighed this morning at I am at 171. (173 in the photo) 40 pounds gone y'all! and 1 pound away from what my license says HAHAHA!! If you're reading this and not yet on your journey because you're afraid, or don't think you can do it, I am here to tell you that you can. I am doing it. I have bad days. Heck, I have bad weeks! But I am HUMAN. It's going to happen. But then I get myelf back together and get back at it. You're stronger and more determined than you think you are. One more thing. You don't need all the crap people are trying to sell you! The Shakeology? Yeah. Save yourself $130 and go to your local WalMart and get some protein powder and a multi vitamin, SAME THING! Wraps? Psh. YouTube DIY Body Wraps and save yourself some money. Colored bowls? Meal prep and know your proper serving sizes. If you are a stay at home mom like I am and on a strict budget please don't let people talk you into to buying their jokes. I will never understand why they think it is okay to rip people off who are also struggling to make ends meet. Baffles me. Crooks. Anywho, I hope you all have a blessed day and a wonderful weekend. |
